ADAC GT Masters resumes season at Slovakiaring

The ADAC GT Masters will return from its summer break at Slovakiaring the 8th-10th August.

Only 100 km from Vienna, the demanding Slovakiaring is the longest circuit on the calendar (5.922 meters) and promises to excite the crowds with five different super sports cars in the top 5 places at start of the second half of the season.

The leaders in the standings, René Rast and ex-Formula 1 driver Markus Winkelhock (Germany / Prosperia C Abt Racing) have continued to display top form during the last weeks. The two Audi drivers have taken their Audi R9 to victory in both the ADAC 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and at the ever popular 24-Hours of Spa-Francorchamps/Belgium, which are two of the most prestigious fixtures for GT endurance racing.

Rast already has the next target in his sights after his superb results and together with team-mate van der Linde, who recently won the FIA’s Young Driver Excellence Award, hope to replicate their good results by intending to win the ADAC GT Masters title.

Among other contenders, a strong bid for the Championship is also currently being presented by Jaap van Lagen (Netherlands / GW IT Racing Team Schütz Motorsport). The Porsche driver who is ably assisted by team mate Christian Engelhart is only ten points behind at present.

All the cars boast YOKOHAMA as official tyre supplier.
