Hyundai Genesis receives upgrades for SEMA

BTR Genesis Coupe

Blood Type Racing Inc., the Chicago-based builder specializing in extracting extreme, street-friendly performance from Korean vehicles, has released details on its 2014 Genesis Coupe built for the 2014 SEMA show. With a host of engine upgrades, suspension changes, and exterior and interior modifications, the BTR Genesis Coupe combines massive power with the true, adrenaline pumping experience of underground racing. The car will be revealed at Hyundai’s SEMA stand in in Las Vegas on November 4.

The BTR Genesis Coupe uses Hyundai’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as the engine’s foundation. The engine received new sleeves, and was bored to give a larger displacement. With the addition of a high-boost Precision Turbo turbocharger, strengthened and fully balanced internal components, a custom intake, intercooler, full exhaust kit and nitrous injection, the BTR Genesis Coupe sends over 800 horsepower to the rear wheels (nearly 1,000 horsepower at the crank) through a six-speed manual transmission. BTR gave the vehicle an aggressive, underground racing appearance by adding a custom wide body kit designed for BTR by the ever famous Body Kit designer Kei Miura from Japan, with 40mm-wider front and 60mm-wider rear fenders, front bumper lip spoiler, rear diffuser and a GT wing for added down force.
