World Record attempt with Ferrari 458 italia

Ferrari 458 Italia Romania

A world record darting through the clouds at 2000 meters above sea level at the wheel of a Ferrari 458 Italia. This is the ambitious goal of Fabio Barone, president of the Club Ferrari Passione Rossa, who last night presented the project to run on one of the most amazing roads in the world: the Transfagarasan in Romania.

It is a relentless succession of curves that crosses the chain of the Carpathians, to go beyond 2000 meters, passing the famous Dracula Fortress. Open only two months a year because of weather conditions, for a day the Transfagarasan becomes an outstanding track and will host an enterprise never attempted so far: a world speed record, in a Ferrari 458 Italy.

The record attempt will be held on Monday August 3. Fabio Barone will be at the wheel alone.

After the first tests carried out last week in Romania, I can confirm that the Transfagarasan is actually the most beautiful street in the world,” said Fabio Barone. “It ‘s 90 km long, but we chose the most scenic stretch, which will be closed to traffic, with the cooperation of institutions, and travel along this stretch as quickly as possible in the presence of official timekeepers of Tag Heuer.”
